The base price includes the front cover/ebook and up to three revisions. Print edition, audio addition, and other add-ons can be added for an additional fee.

I would recommend scheduling your cover as soon as you know enough about your book to commit to the important details – as early in the process as you can.

Having your cover as early in the process as possible gives you freedom to do a cover reveal whenever you’re ready and start using the book in your advertising. Even if you’re waiting to share the cover until later, I still recommend planning ahead and getting it done as early as possible. 

It’s better to have a cover you aren’t ready to use yet than to need a cover that hasn’t been finished.

The cover process typically takes around 4-6 weeks in total, though that depends a lot on the complexity of the cover and the length of the revision process.

Typically, my schedule is filled around 2-3 months in advance, and covers typically take around 4-6 weeks to complete. However, I recommend booking as early as possible to ensure you have your cover ready when you need it.

Yes. While I don’t offer payment plans that continue after your project begins, you’re welcome to reserve a future start date and make partial payments leading up to it. Because payment is due before work starts, this allows many clients I work with to spread the cost over several months if needed.

For example, if you need to pay for the cover gradually over six months, we can set the start date for six months from now, and you can pay as needed over that time period.

Yes, definitely! I love making special editions. I’ve worked with Bookish Box and Fairyloot in the past, as well as editions for individual authors. For pricing, contact me directly for a quote. Details such as foiling and sprayed edges can vary in price, and will depend on what you need.

I’ll send you a questionnaire for more information about your book. I’ll ask for things like the following: 

• The basics (title, author name, series info)
• Blurb/plot summary
• Genre
• Tropes
• Character information (even if you’re not getting a cover that features characters, this is still useful info)
• Comp titles and covers you like

That’s totally fine! I work with a lot of authors who don’t know what they want on their covers. In fact, I often find that the strongest covers come from authors who know how they want readers to feel and what readers they want to appeal to, rather than those who know exactly what they want the cover to look like. 

I can use the details you provide in your questionnaire to create a cover that represents your story while also meeting reader expectations for your genre. The more detail you provide on your questionnaire, the better I can tailor the design to your story and your audience. I’m always happy to help you come up with something awesome!

My cover package includes three rounds of revision during the draft stage. Once the draft is approved and the final painting work is done, no major revisions or concept changes can be made, and any additional revisions may require an additional fee.

This isn’t a problem at all – I rarely end up completing the print cover at the same time as the front cover. When you’re ready, please plan for about 2-3 weeks’ notice so I can make sure to fit the print cover into my schedule. I’ll need to know the following:

• Page Count
• Paper Color
• Trim Size (cover dimensions)
• Back Cover Copy (the blurb and any other text)

If you’re printing with KDP: That’s all the info I need.

If you’re printing with IngramSpark (or any other printer): I’ll need you to send me the template from the printer.

No. I’m against the use of generative AI in artwork, and I never use AI in my artwork at any stage of my art process. 

I work with legally licensed stock photos (from Shutterstock.com), 3D assets in Blender and Daz3D, and illustration work in Photoshop and/or Procreate.

While some stock websites, including Shutterstock, now sell AI generated images, I never purchase or use AI generated assets, and even for stock images that aren’t labeled as AI, I avoid anything that seems suspicious.

• COMMERCIAL LICENSE
  Includes use of the artwork in merchandise for sale. Please note that covers featuring stock images may require additional licenses to be purchased, at the author’s expense, and are not included in the licensing fee.
  +50% of the base package price

   

• WORLDWIDE LICENSE
  Includes use of the artwork for publishing in all formats, translations, and editions. Third parties (publishers you work with such as audiobook publishers, foreign edition publishers, etc) do not need to contact me for an additional license to use the cover.
  
  Please note: this license is not necessary for most self-publishing purposes, but is worth considering if you will be working with other publishers who aren’t willing to pay an additional fee for licensing through me.
  +50% of the base package price
   

• COPYRIGHT TRANSFER
  You own full rights to use or license the artwork however you need, and can make alterations or derivative works. The only right I retain is the right to display publicly and in my portfolio.
  
  Please note that covers featuring stock images may require additional licenses to be purchased for certain uses, at the author’s expense, and are not included in this fee.
  +100% of the base package price
